Literature Text

In the world you live in, magic is commonplace. It is involved in nearly every aspect of peoples lives, and those who are skilled in it are greatly sought after. Right now, one of the most popular uses for magic is the creation of golems. Now, these aren't the traditional golems made of stone or wax, though there are certainly many types composed of those materials. These golems can be made to look like anything, so long as you have the necessary materials. They can be used as servants or pets, along with... other things. They are also completely obedient to their master, an will even only develop a personality that their owner gives them. However, the best part, as largely agreed, is that, since they aren't even living things, the law allows people to do whatever they want with them. Well... almost everything. It is completely illegal to create a golem with actual consciousness, in other words, a golem capable of free will and thought. Doing so would result in the imprisonment of the creator and the destruction of the golem. Of course, even creating one is only possible in theory, so there's no chance of that happening.

Scenario 1:

You are a normal person going about your daily life. You have just returned from the market when you see a young boy run down an alley. Curious, you follow, only to catch a glimpse of a golem, hiding itself behind a bin. You start to approach it, but are stopped by a guard. He asks if you saw anything suspicious. You think about the golem, but decide to tell him no. He thanks you for your cooperation and runs off.

That taken care of, you walk towards the bin the golem is hiding behind, seeing it cower in fear. This golem is odd for two reasons. One, why would guards be chasing a golem of all things? All they have to do is order it to stop and it would have to obey. Two, how could a golem even run away from a human to begin with? Well, first things first, getting the thing out of there. You order it to come out, expecting it to follow your command as golems are bound to do... only to receive a defiant "No!" In response.

What do you do?

Scenario 2

You are a golem capable of free will, and were created by a kindly old man for just that purpose. The man who made you, who you refer to as your father, wanted you as a companion. A real one, not the mindlessly obedient ones other people use. Of course, he was aware of the danger of this endeavor, and as such he made it clear to you that you were not allowed to show your true personality in front of other humans. For the past three years, the two of you have developed a close bond, with him treating you as if you were his own child, and you providing a lonely old man with some much needed company.

However, all good things come to an end, and one day your father is turned in by someone who saw you talking to him. The guards storm in, and you are barely able to escape while your father is arrested, the man shouting for you to save yourself. You run as fast as you can through the town, a guard hot on your tail, eventually ducking into an alley and hiding behind a bin. You hear voices, and soon another human, definitely not a guard, ordering you to come to them.

What do you do?

Da Rules:

1. You all know how it goes by now. PG13 content only, romance allowed. Please read my RP Rules in my gallery for specifics.

2. Golems can literally look like anything, please be creative. Only thing I'll say is that they aren't allowed to fly. Furthermore, if you would like G/T, please feel free. No size limitations for this one.

3. IF you pick scenario 1, keep in mind that up to this point you have never even heard of a golem able to actually feel anything, so that should affect your char's perspective in the beginning. Also for scenario 1, if you want your char to have magic, please go ahead. Just nothing too OP.
Have I ever mentioned how much i adore the story of pinnochio? :D

My Chars:

Scenario 1: Lionel

Scenario 2: Cody

(Hm...so I think I'll do 1, first :D Jena's the same as he was, but I can copy+paste his appearance if you'd like.)

Jena blinked. Had he said the command wrong? He'd never met a golem, after all - the idea of something that looked like a person but clearly was not had always been...creepy, to him. "I said come here." He ordered again, trying to make his high voice deeper and more commanding.
